Blog

This blog tells about the updates Angela makes.

It features her art but talks a bit about others, etc. as well. This does not happen in every post!

Angela is not shy in speaking up about others who have inspired her, etc.

This blog is to help create awareness of LGBTQ rights, etc. but first speaks up for Women in the arts.

However please note that if you have any political issues, etc. contact those in charge of them. This blog is mainly about art.

Thank you for understanding and Namaste

N.D.I.

Hey you guys!

Man, the days go by so fast!

I only have one thing to share today. Although I talk alot about it and some other things.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on them. Please message me here or in private.

I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

If you all know me, you know that I have a notebook for EVERYTHING!

I love writing things down!
I wanted to share my new book with you!

I got it for the National Disability Institute meetings that I attend! I added some art on it, to make it fun.

You’ll see it here!

Not many talk about the fact that a business owned by someone with a disability is treated differently but legally it is.

I think that’s why there aren't A HUGE number of businesses owned by those with a disability.

How many places ONLY offer help to those without a disability?

Its almost as if we don't exist to some.😔

Some don't think it's possible for us to own a business but they have another think coming!
There ARE some businesses owned by those with a disability other than myself and they show the world what is possible! They are amazing inspirations.

There are different rules for us, etc. but anything but is possible!
I was taught in theatre that impossible things happen everyday and I TRULY believe that.

I may have turned to the visual arts and writing but theatre certainly helped me. It will be in my heart always.

Along with movies, tv shows, etc. they all help when my Epilepsy or C-PTSD act up.

I am FOREVER thankful for that!

I haven’t really been diagnosed with C-PTSD but to ME it’s OBVIOUS because not only have I had up to 100 seizures a day and brain surgery for Epilepsy but I’ve survived abuse and rape.

I have not suffered only one time but I’ve gone through YEARS of trauma, which is what C-PTSD is. It’s YEARS of trauma. They SHOULD have C-PTSD in medical books to teach doctors about it! People need to be educated. If they aren’t taught, they simply aren’t going to know and in cases like mine misdiagnose people.

Doctors should be taught all the different kinds of Narcissism as well. Yet, most dr.s here don’t even know that there is more than one kind! How can they help those suffering through Narcissistic Abuse if they don’t even know about it!?

Moving on,
due to the lack of local support and due to legal issues, I am seriously considering changing my business name.

I’ll keep you all posted here but I’ll eventually move.

I may keep AngelasArtArea as a personal blog though. I’m still undecided there.

I am still also unsure how long I will keep this particular site but I do plan on moving. Although, owning AngelasArtArea for so long has meant ALOT to me. In all honesty some do not see me as a serious business and do not treat me as a business owner either. I can’t say that I blame them, nobody let me know the legal issues about a business.

People should know though that I did NOT put together my first exhibition. My mother did and right after I got out of my wheelchair as well. Nobody EVER told me the legal side of selling art. It’s a very good thing that I didn’t sell a bunch because my NOT having a license to sell would have gotten me in ALOT of trouble. I did however put together my exhibitions after that and still nobody filled me in on any legal issues regarding business.

I am in NO WAY giving up. I’m not one to give up and never will be.

I plan to decide on another business name in the future. It’s best NOT to stay stuck and I believe it’s time to move forward! Who knows what the future holds!

Legally, I don't know if keeping AngelasArtArea as a business would even work anyway and I don't really get local support to find out.

Nobody would think that I actually have been in the arts since 15yrs because I don’t even have ONE comment from someone I grew up with in the arts.

Funny thing though, I DO have letters of recommendation!

Mostly from those I worked with in the visual arts but a couple from those I worked with in theatre. I used them for a portfolio I made years ago for SCAD.

I feel like singing Elton Johns “Can you feel the Love tonight”. I think some forgot what it feels like.

I don’t have ONE local supporter who I have grown up with. I learned that’s OK too because Savannah, Ga. is not the world. Plus, there are those here who may be supportive!

Some may say I’m a dreamer and maybe I am to a point!

I have been watching the TV series of Supergirl made in 2015-2021.

Maybe I’m a bit like the character “dreamer”

I’m not 100% Trans like her character was but I’m 100% bi.

Maybe that’s why I haven’t gotten that much local support too because I don’t hide that fact and support everone in the LGBTQ+ community.

Either way, I DO get international support.

THANK YOU to anyone who has supported me.💜

If you have any suggestions as to a business name or know if I should keep AngelasArtArea for personal issues, please let me know.

Namaste,
Angela

P.S. Please know that I’m not doing so well right now, so I apologise ahead of time for any spelling or grammar mistakes I may have made.
