Blog

This blog tells about the updates Angela makes.

It features her art but talks a bit about others, etc. as well. This does not happen in every post!

Angela is not shy in speaking up about others who have inspired her, etc.

This blog is to help create awareness of LGBTQ rights, etc. but first speaks up for Women in the arts.

However please note that if you have any political issues, etc. contact those in charge of them. This blog is mainly about art.

Thank you for understanding and Namaste

Weekend Update!

Hey you guys!

I’m sharing a bit more this weekend!

Looking at the first post alone makes my life look rather sad but in all honesty, I had been in shows, dancing, etc. as well. Although that time will always be looked at as the hardest time of my life.

Many people can become paralyzed, etc. due to just one of the traumatic situations that I have faced. Which makes me feel odd in speaking about them. I don’t want to make anyone think that I’m some sort of hero or saint because I’m not. I’m only human.

Everyone has had their own traumatic situations in life and deals differently. I did have so much trauma to deal with that I can’t go into everything because I know it would physically harm me. That is just proof that I am human!

I’ve been told that all of that is a matter of mind control. I don’t know how much of that one I personally believe. Some physical reactions to stress cannot be controlled without medications. I believe it’s rather idiotic to say otherwise. If I couldn’t sleep at night or function without medication, I’d be 100% for it! I think that’s one of the reasons why I have such an interest in cults, not that I’d EVER join one!

I DO think meditation, small yoga moves, etc. can help to deal though!

I try to think about the good times instead of just thinking of the bad. Only thinking of the bad times in life would get anyone depressed. Please don’t do that to yourself. Everyone deals with stress differently and needs different amounts of time to grieve but please don’t torture yourself by staying in a time of your life that caused pain.

Speaking of good times, after surgery I began to paint! I always drew some but never painted. I was even in a class for painting in high school but never got into it for some reason.

I was in LOVE with singing as noted in my previous post. I wanted to be a country singer.

This is an article written by Lynnette Spratley about my first exhibition.

It was shared with another local artist Mary Atkins and put together by my mother Jeannine Taylor.

How I did that with everything I had to deal with on a daily basis is beyond me! I DO have my thoughts on how I dealt with issues after surgery however and will talk a bit about them in Episode 4.

After surgery I went to vocational school. This was to help me get into the working world. My work in theatre wasn’t looked upon as experience that could get me a job. The fact is passing out playbills, helping people to their seats and answering phones is work experience. People in many jobs need to answer phone, pass out things and help others. That wasn’t the most FUN part of theatre but it is work experience that I have.

I also volunteered at Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace which is a historic building here in Savannah and another place that I absolutely loved!

My love of visual art was noted and a local show was found! The I Have Marks To Make show at the Telfair museum was found and I was VERY excited about it! Although I loved visual art as well, I LOVED HISTORY and the Telfair is HISTORIC!

At the time, the I Have Marks To Make show was new and had enough space for each person to put up two paintings! I honestly do not remember if both of these pictures were taken the same day because I was in two or three shows at the Telfair. It was so long ago that it’s honestly hard to say.

The second painting is a self-portrait that I talked a bit about in Episode 4.

To listen to it just go above.

This last collage that I have to share shows some more works.

I wasn’t just in the I Have Marks To Make Show but working on my art.

As seen here, I was published a few times in the ArtWanted Calendar.

I was also chosen to be in a article for ACEO Magazine! Due to my work on artcards, I was also chosen by Strathmore papers to test out their watercolour paper!!! I was EXTREMELY happy about that! I was so proud of those things, that I didn’t take the time to realize my family didn’t even notice most of them. They did notice some mind you but if I didn’t say something about them, they wouldn’t have even known. I always have had a blog but they weren’t interested in my life anymore. They’d only show interest if it were something in public.

Speaking of family, I know that I stutter sometimes and am 100% ok with it.

King George VI had a stutter and as many may know he is my ancestor. I get my Epilepsy from his brother Prince John. Due to that, it may sound a bit sappy because it’s not like we’re close family but I’m proud of my stutter! It makes me think of him and how strong he was. He helps me hold my head up high.

I’ll also go into a bit more detail in Episode 5! Listen here!>>>

I hope that you all enjoyed this post. I will share more next weekend, so keep your eyes open for it!

Please feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think. I’d love to hear from you.

Until that time, Namaste,

Angela
