Blog

This blog tells about the updates Angela makes.

It features her art but talks a bit about others, etc. as well. This does not happen in every post!

Angela is not shy in speaking up about others who have inspired her, etc.

This blog is to help create awareness of LGBTQ rights, etc. but first speaks up for Women in the arts.

However please note that if you have any political issues, etc. contact those in charge of them. This blog is mainly about art.

Thank you for understanding and Namaste

Collages, music and 420!

Hey there!

Thanks for visiting, I hope everything’s going great.

I have some new works to share with you guys today!

As usual, I made a collage just for you.

The work in the middle is titled True Colours and is dedicated to Cyndi Lauper. I was listening to her music when I created this. Which is why I decided to dedicate it to her! It also creates bi-sexuality awareness due to the colours in it and obviously awareness of peace!

I took that painting around with me when I did markets in the past! It’s also been in multiple exhibitions as well!

The work on the upper right hand side is a self-portrait that was inspired by Frida Kahlos work. Those of you who are fans of Frida Kahlo probably know that she made a self-portrait in 1949 titled Diego and I.

I don’t love one person but care about multiple people. Due to that, I put a heart on my forehead. The yellow rose is for saving the troops, the earth is for a peaceful earth which is why I painted a peace sign on it. Lastly, I put an easel on the upper left side in bi-sexual colours, some notes in the middle representing my love of music and bricks on the upper right side representing the fact that you have to put up a wall of protection in the world today.

If you get past my wall of protection, you are one very very lucky individual.

The work on the upper left side is based on Katy Perry’s Dark Horse. I was listening to her music alot at the time!

I heard at the time that some parents in this location don’t want their children to listen to her music and that simply makes me laugh. I don’t know Katy Perry personally but I get the feeling that she’s nothing but sweet.

Due to that, I dedicated it to her and I kinda don’t care what anyone else may think. The work on the lower left side is in memory of my ancestors

King James I June 19 1566 - March 27 1625

and

Abraham Lincoln February 12, 1809 - April 15, 1865

In other words it represents both Britain and the U.S.A.

The last piece on the lower right side was made because of a memory that I have of my mothers friend making me a strawberry dress.

I tried to digitally paint on top of my drawing but the skin did not come out as I wished. Still, I decided to keep it.

I know that not everyone follows me. The followers on my facebook business page alone has gotten over 100 likes and over 100 followers! Although I know that is not alot to many, it is rather cool to me!

Thank you to those who support me! You have absolutely no idea how much your support means!

420 is coming up!! I don’t know about you but I’m excited about that!

Man-made medications often come with life threatening side-effects!

Marijuana only makes you dizzy and hungry in most cases! It is still a drug though and I believe should be given by a doctor.

I know that some may feel differently and that’s ok. It also doesn’t change how I feel.

It should be legalized to help the quality of life and in many cases to save lives because like it or not it is a drug! Due to that, it should be treated as a drug.

I often create based on Medical Marijuana because I can’t help wondering, why not legalize it for doctors to give their patients one more option?

Drug abusers abuse man-made drugs too! They will always, always take advantage of any sort of drug. Why not allow those who actually need drugs for survival to take it legally?

Isn’t saving a life worth it?

Moving on, many know that my group is ArtCardsUnited.

We at ArtCardsUnited are having fun with a new challenge this month!!

Pull out the paint, pens and cameras! Let's create!
Poems, Visual art, photography are all welcome.
All art must be 2.5" X 3.5" - 8.5" X 11"
Contact acu@angelasartarea.com to enter or ask any questions about this fun challenge!

How do I have my poems, etc. put on that size you ask? Easy!

Many different locations online give options to have things printed.

One is the amazing https://iconix.biz/ Who I highly recommend!

Simply have your poems, etc. printed up to enter!

You can also sell these printed works on your personal sites or give them as gifts to family and friends!

Please note: This is NOT a Spiritual practice but art for the sake of creating art.

Last but certainly not least, I have a collage that I made in support of

Stacey Abrams,

Raphael Warnock,

Wade Herring

and Jon Ossoff!!

They can count on me to always support them!

You can read more about them by going to their sites!

Stacey Abrams: https://staceyabrams.com/

Raphael Warnock: https://www.warnock.senate.gov/

Wade Herring: https://www.wadeherringforcongress.com/

Jon Ossoff: https://www.ossoff.senate.gov/

Contact them about any political issues and let your voices be heard because YOU MATTER!!!

Don’t ignore injustice because as the great Martin Luther King said injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

Fear can paralyze a community and get people to become silent about the things that matter most.

Do not let others drag fear into your heart. Do not stay silent!

As said in Stephen King’s The Stand, Make your STAND!

This world will be better if people work together to help each other before more problems occur.

Huge thanks to KVADPhoto+PRO2 and Paint 3D for providing such wonderful options!

I have to suggest them to any artist!

Until next time.

Namaste,

Angela
