Hey everyone!!! Salut!!!
I have a few things to share with you this week!!!
First I wanted to talk a bit about Romeo and Juliet again.
I know that many love the 1996 version of Romeo and Juliet and mean absolutely NO disrespect but I couldn’t personally watch it.
I like the 1968 version best.
The 1996 version seemed odd to me because there is absolutely NO way anyone would talk like that at that time.
Let’s be honest shall we? People would laugh their asses off if people talked like that today!
The actors in it were absolutely beautiful but I personally do not watch movies for the actors beauty alone.
Noones beauty can captivate me so much that I can not see what should be respected.
I thought that when it came out and I think that today.
The words in Romeo and Juliet are too beautiful to be rewritten in that way but that is MY personal opinion. I wouldn't be so bold as to rewrite anything written by Shakespeare.
Again, that’s ME plus, I would and am inspired by it!
I respect everyone’s opinion on the matter.
I have to give the actors in it a lot of credit though. I don’t think that I could have done that with a straight face. It would also just make me feel awful to not have Shakespeares ok on that, as he did write it.
If you want to take the story of Romeo and Juliet and put it into that time, the story should be changed a bit and made to honour the memory of Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet.
Romeo and Juliet can not be written in a different time though because Shakespeare should be respected enough NOT to take that out of his writing. He did not write it in the future. He wrote it for a certain time.
What right does anyone have to steal that from him, even in death?
Moving on…I made some collages to share with you all!!!
The first one shows a finished project!!! This one ended up being great and I usually don’t like my works.
