Blog

This blog tells about the updates Angela makes.

It features her art but talks a bit about others, etc. as well. This does not happen in every post!

Angela is not shy in speaking up about others who have inspired her, etc.

This blog is to help create awareness of LGBTQ rights, etc. but first speaks up for Women in the arts.

However please note that if you have any political issues, etc. contact those in charge of them. This blog is mainly about art.

Thank you for understanding and Namaste

Thankful for Nature!

Hey everyone!!!

I made a collage to share the progress I’ve made with you all!

I can’t believe that I finished my blue bowl!

It was inspired by my friend Robin Mead!

You can see more of her art at https://robinmeaddesigns.com/

How she makes bowls like this so easily truly is beyond me.

I painted it blue to say GO BLUE!

I am also working on the bricks that I put outside of my studio. I painted flags on them.

You just can’t see the flags on them in this as they’re turned over. I didn’t want to get blue paint on parts that don’t need it.

If you would like to see them, take a look at my past posts.

I could really get into details on the meaning of them. I actually tend to do that at times, when painting live. Someone asked me about a podcast.

The fact is that a podcast would most likely need to be edited, although I know little about them.

I am rather busy as I do all the editing, etc. myself at the moment.

I am open to editing as a paying job though.

Both flags hold meanings for me though.

I saw a very interesting show put on by Henry Louis Gates Jr. about Abe Lincoln!

I learned a few things about Lincoln that I did not know and probably many Americans do not know.

What I DO know is partially based on 2021 views, along with what I grew up knowing.

I also know, especially living in the South that many today need to believe in the beauty of freedom.

When studying my ancestry and after finding out that President Lincoln and Mary Queen of Scots were my ancestors.

I wanted to find the connection…I found it!

Abraham Lincoln was the 4th great-grandson of Samuel Lincoln who traveled to Massachusetts from England.

I did not know some of the things Henry Louis Gates Jr. talked about on his show though.

I still don’t know all of the connections either and don’t know if I ever will but I am proud of what may be in me.

Even if a very small amount is in me, I am proud. I know that I’ve said that a few times before but I am. The truth also makes me sad to a point, I can’t say that I understand what went on in that time.

Some things in this time bother me and that time was 3000 times worse!!! How did people live that sorrow is beyond me!

I don’t think anyone alive truly can understand. This is a different time.

I am proud of the fact that nomatter his reasons, he helped to free people. If it were not for his actions thousands of people would not have the freedoms that they do today.

I am not speaking against Lincoln but I truly believe that many others are also responsible for freeing people. Something so huge cannot happen without the help of others. Lincoln himself even hired some to be on his team because he knew that they understood things he didn’t. That they could help in ways he couldn’t.

Even after Lincoln’s death, the actions of others inspired and helped.

  • The people put the power behind Lincoln’s name. People often want actors to be the roles they play and not the people they truly are, in the same way, Lincoln became what people wanted him to be.

  • In reality he was simply one person standing up for what he believed was right. Those reasons were lost in history and eventually forgotten by many. As is the case with any President, King, Queen, etc.

Ok, back to art!

I don’t know about you all but I am still on the Halloween side.

Although I’m starting to get ready for Christmas as well!!

As for Thanksgiving, I’m thankful for each and everyday! I have to admit that sometimes I want to skip over Thanksgiving so it is Christmas already!

I love to decorate and love the fun!

Although, I do try with Thanksgiving anyway…not that it’s anything new but I’m hugely grateful for nature!!

That being so, I decided to make my current piece in honour of that fact. :)

A friend of mine challenged me to do so. :) I LOVE Art Challenges!

I made a collage to share with you all. As you can see, I have alot of work to do on this piece!

It’s on an old canvas panel that I had from years ago. I tried to get it clean but some spots just would not come off.

Join me TODAY, 2:40ET at www.twitch.tv/angelasartarea to see me add to it!!!

I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend and have a great week!

Until next time, Namaste,

Angela
